I refuse to let a 500 piece Simpsons jigsaw defeat me .. So last night I split the damn thing down the middle which meant I could get it to shape up properly. An hour later, and with the 'assistance' of Charlotte and Bethany, it was done - with Charlotte putting the last piece in (I think it was part of Skinner if anyone is interested ...).
Charlotte then produced her 300 piece 'Hannah Montana' jigsaw, but I then decided that as Charlotte and Bethany had had a long day, been to a pantomime (Which Charlotte ended up on the stage at), and were both still suffering from colds, that it was time for bed for my two little girls.
I went upto Tottenham Court Road yesterday lunchtime and bought myself one of these ... Before anyone remarks that the keyboard has shrunk, it's supposed to be like that ...
It's a midi controller for the amount of recording software I 'acquired' over Christmas - no idea how it or the software works but I'm willing to have a stab ...
One of the bits of software is loads of orchestral samples, and is quite frankly amazing. I spent a fair bit of Boxing Day playing with it, and going through the numerous instrumental samples. I did knock together a tune of sorts, but didn't record it (Nothing to do with not knowing how ...) as I follow the same adage as Lennon and McCartney did when they wrote stuff - if you can't remember it the next day then it's no good. (Which in my case if pretty much all the time ...)
Work is very quiet at the moment (Apart from the really annoying woman in the office who insists on having her phone on speaker-phone when waiting for a call to pickup .. I can hear it, and I'm wearing headphones listening to I-Tunes) so today and tomorrow will be mostly spent reading the manuals for FL Studio 8 and Miroslav Philharmonik.
